Whew! We're in the homestretch now... 2010 is so close you can almost taste it! And I cannot wait!
I don't know about y'all, but Xmas is NOT my favorite holiday. Ever since I got rid of my ex-husband Earl, there's nobody I want to spend it with (except for my darling nephew Chad. But he's going to his new boyfriend's parents' house this year, and I won't see him until after Xmas! Boo!) So I usually pick up an extra shift or two at the diner.
However, Seida does love her a good New Year party! Out with the old, in with the new! Plus, I get to wear one of my sparkly dresses! I just love gettin' dressed up and goin' out. I wonder who the lucky Mister Man will be this year, the one who gets a smooch from Seida at midnight on New Year's Eve?! I hope it's not like the time I got roped into goin' to my sister Sissy's church for a New Year's Eve service. That was awful! We stood around in a circle singing some Kum Ba Ya shit, then everybody kissed everybody else at the stroke of 11 o'clock (because we had to be out of there by 11:30, so everybody could go to their REAL New Year's party.) I tell you what, that was the last time I listened to my sister. The only reason I went is cause she said it was where all the available single men from her church were going to be.
Well, I am finally getting down some of the Halloween crap I put out around the trailer, and I'm unboxing and decorating the tree. It doesn't take long, since I leave the ornaments on the tree when I put it up in storage. But I'll put some lights out, and get some Xmas music on to get me in the mood.
